Information you choose to provide

You can browse public records without creating an account. If you use resident account features, CivicProof processes your email address and authentication information to create and manage the account. Your app session is stored in the iPhone Keychain. Account features can also store saved or followed cities and city coverage requests you submit.

If you contact support, CivicProof receives the email address and other information you include in your message. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes to support.

Public records and automated summaries

CivicProof displays public information from government sources, including meeting records, agendas, minutes, packets, dates, public bodies, and source links. This material may already be publicly available on government websites.

CivicProof may use automated tools to organize or summarize public source material. These summaries are conveniences, not official minutes, legal conclusions, or replacements for the underlying record. Official government records and websites remain the source of truth.

Technical information and diagnostics

CivicProof and its hosting providers receive information needed to deliver requested pages and app data, such as network requests, IP address, browser or app version, and basic security logs. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic reports when your device settings allow sharing them with developers. CivicProof uses this information to keep the service secure, reliable, and compatible.

Service providers and disclosure

CivicProof uses service providers to operate the product, including Supabase for account and database services, Vercel for website and API hosting, and Apple for app distribution and optional diagnostics. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. CivicProof may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or in connection with a business transfer.

Tracking and sale of personal information

CivicProof does not sell personal information. CivicProof does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising, and the iPhone app does not include a third-party advertising SDK.

Retention, security, and your choices

CivicProof keeps account and support information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the product. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You can sign out in the app. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information, email CivicProof using the address below. CivicProof may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Children's privacy

CivicProof is a general-audience civic information service and is not directed to children under 13. CivicProof does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

CivicProof may update this policy as the product changes. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the latest version took effect.
